Stem and Trades

STEM teaches us how to think, design, and innovate, while the Trades give us the practical skills to bring those ideas to life. Together, they form the foundation for solving real-world problems and creating with confidence.

At our nonprofit community makerspace learning pod, learners from kids to adults get hands-on experience in both STEM and the Trades. That might mean designing and building combat robots, diagnosing and repairing vehicles, welding with different processes, or wiring up electrical projects. Each skill connects to the next, showing how creativity, technology, and craftsmanship work hand-in-hand.

By sharing knowledge and tools, we help people explore new interests, gain practical skills, and discover pathways that traditional classrooms often don’t cover.

What's In The Shop

At Scrappy’s, we believe learning happens best when you roll up your sleeves and dive in. Our garage is a hands-on space where people of all ages can explore trades and STEM through real-world experience. Here, we share our skills, spark curiosity, and help others gain the confidence to build, create, and solve problems.

Whether you want to learn how to:

Build and battle combat robots
Diagnose and repair vehicles

Our machine shop is fully equipped for metalworking, woodworking, automotive projects, and beyond, featuring tools such as:

Metal Lathe
Milling Machine
Wood Lathe

For projects that require a lighter touch, our creative workplace includes

3D printers
Sewing machines
and other tools perfect for design, prototyping, and crafting.
